Little Sprouts
Between the beautiful fruit trees at Apples and Berries Center and our wonderful Yummy Garden, children get to have a rich experience that would otherwise be unavailable to them due to their parents' hectic lifestyles and lack of available time. We have made this wonderful experience a reality, allowing our children to gain hands-on experience with such important lessons while creating wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
Children are getting fewer and fewer opportunities to interact with nature, which is important for their development. Children who grow up with an appreciation for and concern for the natural world grow up to be good stewards of the land and its resources. Being in charge of a garden fosters their sense of "nurturing" and teaches them how to care for other living things; additionally, creating and tending a garden empowers children.
Apples and Berries Center's special garden maintenance team has created a beautiful raised garden bed for our little ones to enjoy while learning about planting their own vegetables and eating healthy!
Our garden is intended for children and is practical and functional. The garden is the playground for the kids. They own it and look after it. Because the garden is for children, no chemicals are used in its care.

Children are much more willing to try and consume freshly grown fruits and vegetables. In fact, because they have tended the plants through harvest, they are likely to try foods they have never eaten before. So, one of the best parts of gardening is eating the vegetables when they are ready!
